About the Chamber

A boutique tax chamber, organised around the brief.

Yogesh Shukla & Associates was founded on a simple conviction — that an indirect tax matter is won in the reading of the file, the framing of the grounds, and the discipline of the bench appearance. Not in volume.

Philosophy

A tax practice first. A chamber second.

The chamber's core work is indirect tax — GST, Customs, and the residual Central Excise and Service Tax docket. We appear before the Commissioner (Appeals), CESTAT, the GST Appellate Tribunal, the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India, and we advise on the structuring questions that arise long before a dispute is filed.

Alongside that, we are building an emerging practice at the intersection of law and sustainability — the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme, BRSR Core, and the climate-disclosure regime taking shape under SEBI and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

The chamber is intentionally small. Briefs are led by senior counsel, not delegated through layers. That is what allows us to be both rigorous and responsive.

Anchored in indirect tax

GST, Customs and legacy disputes are the chamber's daily work — not a secondary practice line.

Senior-led briefs

Every matter is read, drafted and argued by senior counsel. No layers between you and the lawyer on the file.

Forum-tested

Regular appearances before CESTAT, GSTAT, High Courts across India, and the Supreme Court.

Commercially candid

Memos that end with a recommendation. A frank view of what is worth contesting and what is not.

Confidential and considered

A small chamber with the discipline of a large firm. Confidentiality is non-negotiable.

Building the next practice

Among the first generation of Indian counsel building a serious sustainability and climate-law practice.

Yogesh Shukla

Founder & Principal Counsel

Yogesh Shukla leads the chamber's indirect tax practice — advising and appearing for manufacturers, exporters, importers, e-commerce operators and service providers across GST, Customs and legacy Central Excise and Service Tax matters. His practice spans replies to show-cause notices, departmental hearings, and appellate work before CESTAT, the GST Appellate Tribunal, the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.

Alongside the tax practice, he is building the chamber's emerging focus on sustainability and climate law — working with project developers and corporates on India's Carbon Credit Trading Scheme, BRSR Core compliance, and the green credit framework as it takes shape.
